Paraíba
Placed among the states of Rio Grande do Norte (north), Pernambuco (south) and Ceará (west), it possesses an area of 53.958 sq kilometers, divided into 242 cities, forming groups of 23 small regions.
Paraíba’s coast is has many calm and warm beaches. Its capital is João Pessoa, which is known as the city where the sun rises first and it’s also the second most green city in the world. João Pessoa has many important events in its calendar, such as Fenart (a well-known art festival), Folia de Rua (a popular carnival event) and others. The Ponta do Seixas, a cliff located at the east side of the city, is considered the America's most oriental point. Some baroque architectural buildings like The San Francisco's Church, that is also a monastery, the Nossa Senhora do Carmo's Church and the old side of the town, which represents an historical landmark for the region.
Campina Grande, located at the countryside, is known for having the biggest São João in the country - a typical party in Brazil that occurs usually in June. This party attracts, every year, many people from all around the world. Sousa, another city located at the countryside, attracts visitors to see the enormous footprints of prehistoric animals at the Sítio do Vale dos Dinossauros. The state also offers a good range of typical food, great events, a good life style and many natural beauties.
The state also has its technological and industrial development in the computing sector, leather, textile, architecture, and others, including a good urban infrastructure. Its industrial services are concentrated in agricultural raw materials, as well as in the sugar production, transformation of non metallic minerals, cement, footwear and software.
