Ceará

Located among the states of Piauí (west), Pernambuco (south), Rio Grande do Norte (east) and Paraíba (southeast), it has an area of 145.694 sq kilometers divived into 33 micron regions and 184 cities.  

The cultural formation is originaded from the mixture of the Brazilian Indians with the Europeans. It is minimum the Black's participation. The capital of Ceará is Fortaleza, considered one of the cities with the most beautiful beaches of the Northeastern region. There are handcrafting markets which offers rendas, leather pieces and bijoux, as well as typical foods. Of all the urban beaches of Fortaleza, the most frequented is the Futuro Beach. 

Among its sightseeing points there are: The Iracema’s Statue, that portrays one novel writen by José de Alencar, the Farol Museum, inaugurated in 1846, the Ceará’s Touristic Center, the Ceará’s Handcrafting Center (CEART), where there are artisans creating their crafts, the Dragão do Mar Culture and Art Center, where there are the Memorial of Cearense Culture and the Contemporary Art Museum.

The state also has a Gas Company, the (CEGÁS) it is the company responsable for the distribution of channeled natural gas in the state of Ceará. Its gas pipeline crosses the following Northestern cities: Guamaré, Natal, João Pessoa, Recife, Maceió, Aracaju and Salvador. Its objective is the production, acquisition, storage, distribution and selling of this combustive. Point of great importance for the growth and development of the state.
